Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons of liquid coconut oil for moisture (About $5 for 14oz.)
  • One teaspoon of water
  • One cup of baking soda (About $1 for 16 oz.)
  • ½ cup of citric acid (About $5 for 4oz.)
  • ½ cup of Epsom salt (About $5 for 3lbs)
  • ½ cup of cornstarch (About $6 for 35oz.)
  • 10 drops of lavender essential oil for fragrance (About $7 for 10ml)

*All average prices were found on Amazon.

* These measurements are meant to yield six bath bombs.

Supplies:

  • Gloves
  • Large bowl
  • Small bowl
  • Muffin tin or bath bomb molds
  • Measuring cups
  • A whisk
  • A spoon
  • A stylish stand-up ziplock pouch

Steps:

  1. Gather all of your ingredients in front of you and put on your gloves.
  2. Place your baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salt, and cornstarch in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk the dry ingredients together to mix them well.
  4. Add your coconut oil, water, and lavender oil into a small bowl.
  5. Stir the liquid ingredients together with your spoon to mix well.
  6. Return your attention to the dry ingredients and start whisking them again.
  7. As you are whisking your dry ingredients in the large bowl, slowly pour the liquid ingredients in the small bowl into the dry ingredients. Make sure to keep whisking until the dry and liquid ingredients are combined.
  8. The correct result should look like sand. Your mixture should not be wet!
  9. Start transferring your bath bomb mix into your muffin tray or bath bomb molds. Pack them in tightly. There should be no sparse spaces.
  10. Leave the molds to dry overnight and you’ll come back to custom bath bombs the next morning!
  11. Place the finished bath bombs in a stand-up ziplock pouch to keep them fresh. Be careful when handling the bath bombs because they will be a tad fragile.
  12. Feel free to decorate your pouch with stickers or hand-written notes!
