Top 5 Work Event Ideas

Top 5 Work Event Ideas

When you’re a part of a team at work, there’s more that goes into the job than just staring at your computer screen. Getting acquainted with the rest of the team and interacting with one another can lead to a better work environment and even more productivity. As a fellow member of a company myself, I know firsthand the significance of participating in events. Even if you work from home, there are ways for your team to socialize and interact virtually. In this blog, I want to go over some of the fun activities that I was personally involved in at QQ Studio. This way, you can get an idea of what can be done at your workplace!

Hiking

Weather permitting, hiking can be one of the best opportunities to exercise, explore, and get to know your coworkers better. When I first started at QQ Studio, going hiking was the first chance I had to spend time with team members outside of the office. This experience helped me feel like I was part of a family. I would recommend partnering up with one or two people for part of the hike so that you can focus on getting to know each other on a more personal level. Plus, having a buddy is always ideal for safety purposes just in case.

Picnic

There’s nothing like a nice picnic on a beautiful sunny day. Orchestrating a company picnic allows the team to enjoy a laid back day with their plus ones and the rest of the team. In addition to eating good food, you can even set up gaming stations for everyone to enjoy. At my first QQ Studio picnic, I participated in games like Volleyball, tug of war, balloon toss, and various card games. This was an amazing experience that yet again showed the importance of team building.

Summertime Challenge

While we’re on the topic of nice weather, it’s only right to note the ongoing summertime challenge held at QQ Studio. This challenge involved setting a goal of walking steps per week. Every willing participant would keep track of their steps and report their progress at the end of each week. This challenge was super fun because it promoted fitness and encouraged workers to walk together on their lunch break. If you work from home, you can even participate in this challenge on your own time. All you have to do is upload your steps and engage with the rest of your coworkers online or mobile.

Holiday Events

Holiday work events can be another way for everyone to socialize and grow as a team. At QQ Studio, we took time before Christmas to host a gingerbread house competition. At this event, we split into two teams and set a time limit for how long we could work on making the gingerbread houses. After the timer went off, we got together as a group and evaluated who had the best gingerbread house. Not to brag or anything, but my team made the best house by far. All jokes aside, this is a great way to incorporate teamwork. For those working from home, you can also set up an event like this that would require each individual to make their own house and judge each other’s creation over video chat!

Virtual Happy Hour

What if I were to tell you that happy hour at work can take place outside of the office? With video conference calls, this is totally possible. In our special margarita kit blog, we broke down how to put together a delicious cocktail kit that can be sent out to other team members as gifts. Thanks to technology, you’re able to get the next best thing to face-to-face interaction. No matter where you are, you can still enjoy conversing and unwinding with coworkers!

Overall

There’s plenty of ways for your company to get to know each other better and have fun in the process. As someone who has attended multiple work events with QQ Studio, I can honestly say it’s a great experience every time. I hope that you were able to draw some inspiration from my experiences. We have other fun activities to tell you about too. If you like this blog, check out our other blog on the best bachelorette party theme
